Echo – classical pan flute method – Raluca Patuleanu

This method, propose by International Panflute Academy, is intended for beginners of all ages, for Pan flute tuned in G major, and it is in 4 languages. At the same time as the Pan flute, the students can learn the musical notes. First of all, you need to tune your Pan flute in G Major (F#). Before publishing this method, I tested it on more than hundred of students of Belgian origin. Students who don’t live in Romania don’t know the sound of pan flute like those who live in Romania or the Republic of Moldova, where the Pan flute is heard on the radio, on TV, in theaters, restaurants etc. I tried to respect the learn rhythm of the students from other countries to discover the sound and the Pan flute possibilities. In this method you can learn the basics elements as: how to hold the Pan flute in your hands (position), how to blow (embouchure), basic exercises going through long notes, simple intervals, legato, vibrato, staccato, how to play chromatically (halftone position also called 2nd position). After these basic elements are assimilated, at the end of the book you can play the G Major scale with several intervals and arpeggios. This method does not contain songs. For songs, I recommend the ‘Pan flute education 1’ method, created together with Stefan Negura. The latter being recommended and controlled by university professor Ion Negura.
